What Is The Human Purpose Of Life?
What is the human essence of being?
The highest purpose of human life is a subjective question that has been contemplated by philosophers, religious leaders, and scholars throughout history. Different cultures and individuals have different perspectives on this matter. Some people believe that the highest purpose of human life is to achieve enlightenment or spiritual fulfillment, such as reaching a state of total inner happiness or becoming one with God in Catholicism. Some still believe that the highest purpose in life is the pursuit of self interests, while others believe that the highest purpose is to live a virtuous life and make a positive impact on the world by contributing to society, helping others, or leaving a legacy. Those who argue that the highest purpose of human life is simply to find happiness and pursue one’s passions and interests are not aware of the Law of Diminishing Marginal Utility/Satisfaction.
Ultimately, the answer to this question depends on one’s personal beliefs, values, and worldview.
Yet, most humans share a common longing for for love and eternity.
When we are children, the beauty of innocence compensates for the lack of wisdom. As we grow old, wisdom should compensate for the loss of beauty. . . and innocence.
