The Power Of The Paraclete

--

It has been extremely uplifting to watch the series The Chosen which offers the opportunity to relive up-close the humanity of Jesus Christ and the frailty of His disciples who remind us of our own weaknesses on a daily basis.

Can you imagine telling someone I’m ready to die for you and a few hours later deny you even know that person?

Yet, we do it every day!

Despite the extraordinary fact of Jesus resurrection and how amazing it must have been for His disciples to witness His ascension into heaven, we would have never heard about Jesus had it not been for the power of the Holy Spirit (The Paraclete).

Without the assistance and power in Pentecost* of the Holy Spirit — rightfully called The Paraclete, also known as the advocate, comforter, intercessor, aider, and consoler, according the the Gospel of John — none of the disciples would have been able to willingly give up their life as they did.

It is, to this day, thanks to the Holy Spirit, that each one of us is able to listen to our conscience and know right from wrong.

It was thanks to the power of The Holy Spirit that the disciples were able to act in accordance with the Spirit and not the flesh. And it is thanks to the power of The Holy Spirit that we too are able to do the same.
